Privacy & Data Policy
Effective Date: March 23, 2026
1. The ZeeReport Data Philosophy
ZeeReport is a Data as a Service (DaaS) platform built for the “DIYer” (Do-It-Yourself) prospective franchisee. We operate as a data custodian, balancing the need for strict user privacy with our mission to create a transparent, data-driven franchise marketplace.
2. Tripartite Data Taxonomy
To provide operational latitude, we distinguish between three categories of data, each governed by different rights:
- Customer Content
- This is the Personal Information (PII) you provide during an Inquiry Action, including your name, email, phone, and mailing address. You own this data; we process it only to facilitate your requested connections.
- Usage & Telemetry Data
- This includes metadata generated by your interaction with ZeeReport, such as login times, clickstreams, and feature usage. ZeeReport owns this “Service Data” and uses it as a Data Controller for site administration and security.
- Derived & Aggregated Data
- This includes the statistical insights, benchmarks, and proprietary scores (e.g., “Franchise Failure Risk Score™”) generated by processing the above categories. ZeeReport owns all right, title, and interest in Derived Data.
3. “Inquiry Actions” and One-to-One Consent
ZeeReport facilitates direct connections through “Inquiry Actions.” These are platform actions—such as clicking buttons labeled “I'm Interested,” “Contact the Company,” “Request Information,” or similar—where you request to be contacted by a franchisor.
- Specific Entity Consent
- Engaging in an Inquiry Action provides express, one-to-one consent for ZeeReport to transmit your Customer Content exclusively to the single franchisor featured on that specific report at that moment.
- Record of Consent
- We log these actions to provide a “clean chain of title” and verification for our lead generation partners.
4. Ownership of Analytics and the “Data Flywheel”
- De-Identification Gateway
- You agree that ZeeReport may process Customer Content and Usage Data to create “Aggregated Statistics”.
- Proprietary Assets
- All right, title, and interest in Aggregated Statistics and Derived Data belong solely to ZeeReport.
- Commercialization
- ZeeReport reserves the right to use, license, and distribute Aggregated Data and Derived Data to third parties (such as Private Equity firms or institutional lenders) for any lawful purpose, including industry benchmarking and market analysis.
5. Service Improvement and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
To support our Artificial Intelligence Optimization (AIO) strategy, we use platform data for machine learning.
- The Right to Train
- We use Usage Data and de-identified content to train our algorithms, develop new features, and prioritize our product roadmap.
- AIO Citations
- We allow AI agents to crawl our public analysis for the purpose of citation, provided they do not scrape our proprietary Derived Data or user behavioral trends.
6. Legal Bases for Processing
We process data based on the following legal frameworks:
- Consent
- For the pass-through of your contact information to a franchisor.
- Legitimate Interests
- For product analytics, network security, and service improvement. We balance these interests against your rights and provide opt-out mechanisms where feasible.
7. Global Rights and “Right to be Forgotten”
We aim for global compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA):
- Deletion
- You may request the deletion of your PII. We process these requests manually in a timely fashion.
- Retention
- While PII is purged upon request, we retain anonymized Usage Data and all Derived Data indefinitely for historical and analytical purposes.
8. Business Transfers and Exit Strategy
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, all data collected by ZeeReport—including both Personal Information and our proprietary Derived Data—is a transferable business asset. Any successor must continue to honor the privacy commitments made in this policy.
9. Amendments
We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time to maintain our operational latitude. We will provide notice of material changes via our website. Your continued use of the platform after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
